Building community
from the ground up
The Dundo Ecological Social Housing Project was a project led by the Angolan Government in 2007 as part of its post-war recovery and reconstruction efforts. Phoenix Bridge took part in the design, consulting, purchasing, and construction of Dundo Ecological Social Housing, ultimately making a significant contribution to the project’s success.
Phase 1 of the project is divided into 28 urban blocks and spread over 115 hectares, providing accommodation for approximately 30,000 residents. The project won the gold award for architectural design. It also received high praise from former Angolan President Dos Santos, who heralded the project as “creating the fastest construction speed in Angola and shocking Angola”. The project has also received high praise from local officials and others who describe it as “the most beautiful project in Dundo” and “beautiful scenery in Dundo”.
